Changing the security level would be a good place to start... Assuming your using IE there are preferences you can set that allow ActiveX controls, check under the tools menu, options and security tab ...

With the low cost of drives these days... why not just buy a secondary drive instead of partitioning?

Should have waited until Vista SP1 was released before upgrading... :-)
