Link scanner(safe) work in HTTP mod in Pale Moon, Comodo Dragon.

Link scanner(safe) dosen't work in HTTPS mod in Pale Moon, Comodo Dragon, Google Chrome, Firefox => all stable version.

Plugin: Bullguard Safe Browsing 2.1 works in Firefox ESR and Firefox 17.0.1.

I run Pale Moon x64 Portable on my two systems. There is no BG Extension or Plug-in present.

Browsing is fully protected - attached is a screenshot of a drive-by attack living on a media site; all I did was click on a link in a referring site.

In my experience search links are scanned on supported engines under http (not https) protocol.

With consideration of the benefits of Pale Moon as well as my layered security schema, for me the issue of any BG Add-ins is moot. Your opinion my differ. FYI: I also run Bit Defender's Traffic Light extension and Adblock Plus with the DNS-BH Malware blocklist.

I have spoken to our developers and if there is interest in adding this to the list of protected browsers we will add it.

I recommend that you post this on feedback.bullguard.com so other users can vote.

It is correct that we are not currently scanning secured pages, but we are already looking into a solution for this.

As a point of information, here is some info about the Firefox extension as sent to me by BG Support. It pretty much verifies my observations and experience to date.

"The only BullGuard extension available in Firefox is the Safe Browsing one, which is related to the Safe Browsing feature (detecting and blocking malicious websites). The extension's sole purpose is to provide functionality towards being able to report false positives to our anti-phishing service providers after a detection took place. The detection itself, and the green checkmarks visible on search engines will still function de!!!!e the extension not being available (these are governed by their respective settings in the BullGuard application). However without the extension you will not be able to report false positives (sites blocked by mistake).

I am sorry to say that there are no .xpi files available for the installation of the extension manually."

I don't know why de!!!!e (d e s p i t e) is renders as de!!!!e above and here.

The reference to an .xpi file is in response to my inquiry if any were available should I wish to install any manually.

So rather than wasting your time developing resident support for oddballs

who use Mozilla browsers other than Firefox and the even odder oddballs

using portable versions, perhaps you efforts could focus on an .xpi installer. Those who are savvy enough to run anything other than what FirefoxSetup.exe installs as default should be able to deal with an .xpi.

As it is, now that I understand your Safe Browsing extension, I know that I would disable it.

Secure page scanning, though, would be nice. Especially if it scanned links in Google Mail, Reader, Plus, etc. which as far as I can tell are all 100% https.
