Please can anybody help me to remove these viruses: I have 9 in my system, all of them in my Thunderbird userprofile
/Mail/mailbox.aon.at/Inbox, mostly in Trash or Junkfolder, but all of them are apparantly empty.
As I not a very experienced person, I would net a step by step help. Thunderbird could not remove the virus. confused+ cry
Greetings U.E.Rose

Hello smile

Run a BitDefender Online scan http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html   and post the results.

Please post the BitDefender Scan Report in your next reply.

Delete Deleted Items.dbx on your back up partition. You have first to go to my computer, tools, folder options,display/view,check show hidden files and folders. Now you will find the folder Application Data\ and navigate further.

Hi UetRose,

I also had a problem with Generic.Peed.Eml which kept coming back after bullguard had deleted it.
I got rid of it permanently by following the procedure which I posted earlier on thread:
http://www.bullguard.com/forum/10/Top-Tip-Advice-to-rid-those-in_54339.html

Hi,
I have the same problem. I'm using Seamonkey as navigator and mail manager. I use Bitdefender as antivirus. I'm getting fed up trying to remove that generic.peed.eml DB2F6ECA that always come back!!! I ran the online scanner from Bitdenfender several time, it deleted it but then the virus came again, so I deleted it again but it came again and so on and so forth.

Can anyone help me find a way to get rid of it ?

Many thanks

I was having continuing problems with my Bullguard antivirus scanning repeatedly finding Generic.Peed.eml in Thunderbird e-mails that I had deleted. After much headscratching, forum searching and Bullguard support querying I came across "Compact Folder" in Thunderbird Help. This told me that Thunderbird doesn't do folder compaction automatically unless you check the "Compact folders when it will save ???KB" box in Tools/Options/Advanced. Otherwise deleted e-mails aren't actually deleted. Which was why Bullguard kept reporting the same problems over and over.
Just thought I'd post this in case it might be helpful to others having the same problem.

sorry about the repeated post. I got a time-out message after I submitted it and I wasn't sure it had gone!
