Has anyone figured out how to remove PC Mighty Max. I used the add remove and when I clik remove it says there is an internal error 2753 pcmm.exe. Basicly the progam has taken over my computer acting like a virus. Locked me out of XP, had to re-register the product. Changed my screen settings. Locked up my Zone Alarm. Changed the AVG e-mail settings. Will not allow me to do any system restore. Unable to save files to CD. I hope someone can help me.
I cant even GET to the registration for mine...tells me theres a error and logs me back out to my log in screen.....i need HELP BADLY to get this off my computer!!
lol yer well im anti pc max cos its giving my name (maxy) a bad name. this should help:
go strat, run, type in: msconfig
then click on the tab that says startup. make sure a process called pcmm is UNCHECKED.
once you have done this, restart your computer and simply go my computer, c drive, program files, and delete the pcmm folder and delete it from your recycling bin.
to double check it is completely gone, make sure you deleted the setup file and have deleted your cookies and temporary internet files. to do this, do the following:
open up internet explorer, click tools, internet options, delete cookies and then delete temporary internet files.
hopfully this fixed it. if not then you may have to get a specialist in or download anti spyware programs. the one that i recommend it xoftspy. it is VERY good and has kepy my computer relavtively clean for several months. stay away from winfixer, and a spyware program that i HATE is called surf side kick. it bugs me to hell and back so if u get it kick its ass ofr me ;P and good luck :)
I to am suffering from PC Mighty Max. As an administrator, I can't see the START menu ( My wife is not an administrator and can see START menu). I have deleted the program, I have gone into the registry and removed all reference to the Program but still it controls my machine. I am on the Web using my laptop, knowing that I am not the only one who has this problem (I downloaded the program because I had a (minor) problem). I now have a totally unuseable machine. I will defeat the swine, and when I do I will try to remember what I did and post it on here. Thanks for the information so far, if I find the author before you, I will post it's picture on the web.
Still fighting, it would appear that 99% of my processor time is being taken by the Remote Procedue Call (RPC). If that is not suspicious, I do not know what is. Luckily, I have disconnected the Internet connection.

Try this: I hope it works for you.
I'm using Windows XP.
Open Recycle Bin, Empty recycle bin. Click on Folders. Click on + beside My Computer. Click on + beside Local Disk C; Click on + beside Program Files Scroll down to find PC MightyMax. Click on the name to display contents of PC Mighty max. On right side of page, look for PCMM.EXE Right click on it. Left click on Rename Overwrite and rename it as NOTPCMM.EXO (Do NOT put in EXE). Once name changes, and icon changes, Right click on it. Click on delete. You can also delete all the rest of the files showing there.
Is any one interested in a class lawsuit? This "bug" has cost me time and money. I have lost critical files. Sent an e-mail to pc mighty a few days ago, they totally ignored. We need to remove this people from business and prevent more damage to others. Please post a reply to either 1franciscodep or to this forum
Help: I have never had "strange" things happen to my computer but I suddenly I have P C MightyMax which I have tried to remove to no avail. I don't know what it is but reading some of the emails on this site it is worse than I thought.

I have been PC MIghtyMax free for a week by following the advise of the real MIGHTY MAX Here's how I did it. Go to Start, Run & type in msconfig, click on Startup and and uncheck all PCMM or in my case 3 Trayicons. In any case look for 3 of the same thing with 0 kb. After this I rebooted, went to my "C" drive, program files and deleted the PC MightyMax folder and deleted it from the recycle bin. I went to Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options and deleted Cookies and Temporary Internet Files. After that was done, I clicked to again allow cookies because I needed them for some of my applications. Hope this helps bobbieg
I know your intentions are good bobbieg, but those steps, though they might cripple some of the software, are not really the best methods to remove that or any other malware. Since you at least still have orphaned disabled startups in your registry, I suggest you click the New Topic button at the top left of the Removal Help forum here, and Touch or I will respond in that and provide some assistance.
