I am running Windows XP Home edition with Norton Anivirus 2004 installed. If I try to open Norton it will either open and immediately shut down or it will just not open up at all. I thought I might have either the bugbear or klez viruses but I downloaded both removal tools from symantec and neither of them worked. What other viruses might disable antivirus programs like this and what can I do?

Don't know but try this disable norton and download bullguard www.bullguard.com and run a scan because until you know what the virus is you can do more harm than good trying to fix it. remember disable norton it and the puppy do not get along.
