Hi there,

I read the info destroyer and shredzz wrote.I've got a simular problem.I've got maybe 5 anti-virus en spyware prog's.There's a window pop up that says it still there when i start up.Same as Shredzz F:System Volume\Iformation\_restore...
I wanted to try with the system restore but didn't work.I've been thinking about disabling the system restore but does it mean you lose all your restore points.I'm a beginner and a bit afraid of doing that. As i'd like to have something to turn to incase something else doesn't work.
I hope one of you guys can help me out as i'm really going crazy about this!

Thank you!

Disabling the Restore function means loosing the restore points.
In Windows Millennium you can move the slider to a certain point until and the scan of the remaining data in the System Restore folder finds no viral code in it.

But you can always enable back this function and Windows will make shortly other restore points.

 smhair  AMEN to that one!
I agree with you petria upto 1 little point unless you acually go into the regedit and delete the virus infection any restore point is still going to be affected. Remember ME is only 98 on steroids and still depends on cab files.

Hey,

So disabling the system restore is the only way to get rid of the Trojan bastard, yeah?
It means that i disable,do a restart and then enable it again?

Cheers.

freaked  No it means you turn off your system restore and Leave it off until you at least do a disk clean to remove all restore points thus far do not turn  it off then expect it to work immediatly, PLEASE DO A DISK CLEAN FIRST, THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER THEN CHANCE TURNING YOUR RESTORE BACK ON. I wouldn't reccomend ever turning it back on because most virusus write themselves into the restore so if you crank it back up you could very well put the damn thing back in.
