Since your help with the trojan I have only just discovered another problem that may or may not be related in terms of time or coincidence.

I have been unable to update my AVG anti virus- I am in touch with AVG who have been very helpful and are continuing to be so- even re installed the software- tried almost everything.

I just wondered whether there was anything that we did that may have caused this?

Try this -

Download the Hoster from here:

Unzip on your Computer
The Hoster
Press 'Restore Original Hosts' and press 'OK'
Exit Program.
Note: if you were using a custom Hosts file you will need to replace any of those entries yourself

Reboot and tell if you can update now

It is allowed in your Firewall?

I dont fully understand what it is! but I followed your help- but it didnt change anything..
AVG is allowed in the firewall
AVGinet.exe is allowed.

what does this mean-
