Help! I can't retrive my backup files

My machine crashed when this trogan fakealert5 reared it's ugly head. I had to do an emergency recovery and consequently have lost all my data. My files are backed up online, and although I can get tothem, I can't put them back on my computer. The live support sent me details on how to backup, but the document doesn't tell you how to recover the files. Can anybody help me please as I have been trying to sort this out for three hours. Thanks
