Hi Tedc

at the first...don´t use 2 Av progs(Avast! and AVG)...it isn´t good for stability of system....in this case you risk freezing or some crashes of system.....

if you wanna use more than one AV prog set only one for Resident protection!

but I recommend you use just one AV prog....

Download Ad-AwareSE

Download SpyBot

Download ScanSpyware
(Serial: 5426-7451-2543)

Download Mwav

Download SysClean (sysclean.com file)
Download pattern file
(unpack and copy with sysclean.com to the same folder)

Download TDS-3
Download TDS-3 update
(just re-copy radius.td3 file to the folder TDS-3)

Download latest Stinger version

Download CCleaner

http://www.docsdownloads.com/Tier1/dr-delete.htm

Download Advanced process termination
www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=apt
(you don´t have to install it....it´s only executable utility)

install and check for updates....

PROCEDURE:
1.Turn off System restore

2.Reboot to the "Safe mode"

3.Show hidden files

4.Run Hijackthis:
Check:

I can't help you, but I thought I'd mention that I have the same problem. I used to have Ceres but Adaware removed it. Now I get Aurora popups. I think that Aurora and Ceres are the same thing, they have the same icon.

Hi there
About the Aurora adware/virus.. I have had the same problem..

Solution:
In documents and settings, your username, local setting,   you do have 2 catalogs called Temp, and Temporary internet files..
Delete all content of those 2 directories.. Within "temporary internet files" and some sub catalog, you find Aurora.exe.. Within the "Temp" directory, and also there some sub catalog, you find a file calles Aurora[1].exe..   those are the files making this annoying popup thing..

C:\Documents and setting\"user"\local settings\temporay internet files\
C:\Documents and setting\"user"\local settings\temp\
I had to use Antivirus scan as well.. and they found other things on my puter also..
I used the Panda online scanning, and Symantec online scanner as well.. they do only come up with a list of files they consider a threath, but as long you have the file names it is easy deleting them..
The messages i got on one of the online scannings, was as follows:

C:\WINDOWS\ccelyhffeug.exe is infected with Adware.BetterInternet
C:\Documents and Settings\"User"\Lokale innstillinger\Temp\UPY\uacupg.exe is infected with Adware.BetterInternet
C:\Documents and Settings\"User"\Lokale innstillinger\Temp\QEY\uacupg.exe is infected with Adware.BetterInternet
C:\Documents and Settings\"User"\Lokale innstillinger\Temp\KPA\uacupg.exe is infected with Adware.BetterInternet
C:\Documents and Settings\"User"\Lokale innstillinger\Temp\IDU\uacupg.exe is infected with Adware.BetterInternet
C:\Documents and Settings\"User"\Lokale innstillinger\Temp\DSM\uacupg.exe is infected with Adware.BetterInternet
C:\Documents and Settings\"User"\Lokale innstillinger\Temp\CXF\uacupg.exe is infected with Adware.BetterInternet

I do hope this was of some help for you, if still problems feel free to ask..

Regards
Tom Benjaminsen

Had the same problem with no luck in running any of my av programs to get rid of it.  Finally found a link to an "uninstall" download to get rid of Aurora.  Since I ran this I have not seen the pop-ups since.  Apparently, Aurora is adware that comes with free software downloads.
Go to:  www.mypctuneup.com/aurora and download the free uninstall.
This definitely solved my problem!

I downloaded this program but I can't get it to run properly.  It keeps telling me I need to enable sessions and cookies by setting my privacy level to 'default'...then restarting the program.  But everytime I try doing that it still doesn't work...still gives me the same screen suggesting I set it to default again.  Anyone else have this?  Hope someone can help me get it to run.
