I was downloading a file from a file feom a file sharing service today and something strange happened....Instead of the file download box giving me a percentage when I minimized it, it gave me the download rate, and it would also sometimes show chinese charactors instead of the Explorer symbol, and in the dialouge box when I maximized it.

Is this common or should I concerned?

Also, if I have posted this in the wrong forum, forgive me.

I would be concerned. Any time you download a file from a file sharing network - you are taking a big risk and then if it doesn't do as expected - something is wrong.

Have you run antivirus programs?
