| My AV software detects but cannot clean the "Adware.Binet" trojan, and so I restart my computer in safe mode and delete all the infected files. In addition, I go into the registry and manually delete all the related keys (my AV software has a list of the keys and values to delete). I even search the registry and find other references not on the list and delete those as well.
...but my computer keeps getting infected with this trojan...I keep finding these 3 files on my computer (which I keep deleting, including the dll file):
c:\windows\biprep.exe
c:\windows\prefetch\BIPREP.EXE-2C95DCF1.pf
c:\windows\bi.dll
How is my computer getting infected? I am certainly not deliberately installing anything, have scoured my computer files and registry for signs of this insidious trojan to delete them, then do a scan and the AV software says it's clean...then it reappears again!! Arrrgh!
If I can figure out where this trojan comes from, then maybe I can finally defeat this beast.
