We start with some scans.

Trusted Zone removal:
Right click http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf and select Save As to download WinHelp2002's DelDomains.inf.
Please save the file somewhere you can find it like on the desktop.

To run the inf file, right click on it and select Install.

Unzip to Desktop

Go to Start | Control Panel | Add-Remove Programs
Remove the following if found or any variation:

BullsEye Network
NaviSearch
CashBack
Media Access
MyWay/MyWebSearch

Please go offline

Run Nail Remover

Reboot into Safe Mode - Hit F8 key untill menu shows up

Run the mwav scanner:
Put a checkmark in:
Memory, Startup folders, drive, Registry, System folders og Services.
And:
All local drives og Scan all files
Push: Scan Button
The scan can take a couple of hours

Spybot, click on the Immunize button. Then "Scan System" button. Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, and click - Check for Problems. Once the scan is complete, have SpyBot remove all it finds marked in RED.

Adware
Click Start and on the next screen choose:
In settings under 'scanning,' have it set to
'scan within archives,'
'scan active processes,'
'scan registry,'
'deepscan registry'
'scan my IE Favourites for banned URL's,'
'scan my host's file.'
In 'tweaks' under 'scanning engine' set it to 'unload recognised processes during scanning.'
Also in 'tweaks' under 'cleaning engine' set it to 'Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion' & 'let Windows remove files in use at next reboot.'
Select 'activate in-depth scan' before starting scan.
When the scan is finished select 'next.'
Remove what it finds by placing a check in the box to the left of the object. Save the log file when it asks and then click Finish.
When finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click on any of the entries and choose Select All from the drop down menu and click Next.

Run cwshredder -Fix

Reboot

Go to Start | Run and type: cleanmgr.exe and hit enter.
When prompted what drive to clean select your hard drive c:
If asked what folders to clean in a list, tick them all to clean all temp folders, downloaded program folders, temporary internet files, etc., and the recycle/trash bin.

Please print out the remainder of these directions, as you'll have to proceed in Safe Mode. Now, disconnect to the net.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up).

Start-run, type:regedit
Find- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
check for a key called-HOMEOldsp, if present- delete it.
And if you have some files in searchpage/searchbar which end with …\sp delete them
Go to Edit in registry and type - HOMEOldsp. Click-Find Next, delete it-if present.
Use F3 for search more, if you find more- delete them.
Same procedure with-About:blank
Close Registry.

Run CleanUp. The Temp folders should be cleaned out as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there.

Reboot.

Damn, every time I post my file and go to another page, the Aurora popup makes a comeback. I don't think I'm doing something wrong? Now SearchAssistant and ShopAtHome are back in the Add/remove programs. What's the next step?

It is a nasty thing to get rid of-Aurora

Let´ try the Easy way first. Download, install, update and run Microsoft´s spywarescanner: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

If it don´t get rid of, do this:

1. Download FindIt's.zip to your desktop. > http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=142443

2. Unzip/extract the files inside open the folder

3. Run the FindIt's.bat (please be patient - it may take some time) and wait for a text to open,

4. If prompted to "Press any key to continue" please do this (it will generate the text file)

5. please copy & paste the contents of the text file in your next reply here.

Please look in your Windows folder for a randomly named exe file, who's icon looks like a golfball with intersecting orange and blue lines on it.

To confirm you have the right one, right click on it, choose properties ... does it say, description "buddy"

Thanks again for your help, Touch. The Microsoft scanner did not get rid of Aurora, but then I tried the following link: http://www.mypctuneup.com/evaluate.php?b=aurora

I was a little nervous about running it, but now it seems I am spyware free, and the Aurora golf ball in the windows folder is gone. Here is my logfile - anything else to clean up?
